Job summary

America At Work seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for an established North American engineering firm specializing in refining, petrochemical, and heavy industrial projects. You will lead mechanical design on refinery and industrial campaigns, focusing on process piping, fixed equipment, and rotating equipment, while coordinating with multi-discipline teams.

Qualifications

10+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
Refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas, chemical processing, or heavy industrial experience.
Experience leading engineering deliverables on capital projects.
Strong understanding of mechanical equipment and process piping systems.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering activities on refinery and industrial projects
Design and review process piping systems (ASME B31.1 & B31.3)
Prepare engineering calculations and code compliance documentation
Develop equipment specifications and data sheets
Review pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment
Lead mechanical design reviews and quality assurance activities
Coordinate with piping, structural, electrical, civil, and process engineering teams
Support procurement by preparing bid packages and evaluating vendor proposals
Participate in field walkdowns, construction support, and startup activities
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
Interface directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
