HII Newport News Shipbuilding seeks a senior mechanical systems engineer within the Propulsion Plant Engineering Activity (PPEA) to design, plan and test SEP systems for CVN68 class ships. You will develop components, write procedures, and provide engineering support for construction, maintenance and trials.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree and significant relevant experience; relocation assistance is offered, and final clearance may be required to start.

Formación

• ABET-accredited engineering bachelor's degree required.
• 9+ years of relevant exempt experience required.
• Master’s degree with 7+ years experience; PhD with 4+ years experience.

Responsabilidades

• Researches, plans, designs, and develops mechanical products and systems for energy production and control.
• Plans, designs, develops, and tests mechanical/electromechanical systems and components.
• Provides systems engineering support to shipyards and operating forces afloat.
