The Propulsion and Reactor Engineering Planning Yard Machinery Team supports the major engineered components in the propulsion plants of Ford and Nimitz class aircraft carriers, offering design and vendor support opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Advanced degrees strengthen candidacy for senior roles.
• ABET accreditation is required for Newport News Shipbuilding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results.
• Supports design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
• Contributes to propulsion plant component engineering for Navy carrier programs.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in engineering (ABET accredited)

Master's Degree in engineering or related field

Ph.D. in engineering or related field
