Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 5–8+ years of engineering experience, preferably in product design engineering duties within a manufacturing environment
• Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects
• Advanced/Intermediate experience with industry drafting and CAD standards
• Experience in product design, GD&T using Autodesk Inventor, FEA, and DFMEA
• Hands-on product experience with ability to recognize problems, predict potential outcomes, and implement countermeasures quickly
• Ability to use PC software including spreadsheets and word processing, databases, and automated systems
• Advanced/Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint preferred
• Working knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD
• Experience with ERP systems and software
• Professional engineering licensure preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from start to finish and coordinate with other functional groups
• Plan, design, and develop products or components and prepare layouts/specifications
• Analyze test data to verify design meets specifications
• Review production of new products to ensure quality and cost targets
• Create and update bills of materials using CAD/ERP systems
• Provide design, prototype, and validation support for improving existing products
• Oversee installation and testing of field test units at customer sites
• Develop product documentation and manuals
• Collaborate with suppliers on parts or products for design improvements
• Identify opportunities for new product cost reductions and technology advances
