LER TechForce, LLC seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Columbus, Indiana, and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. Duties: ensure compliance with product development process, including design for manufacturing; lead design peer review and product development team meetings; evaluate and document prototype performance, and identify and recommend improvements; coordinate mechanical-related tasks with cross-functional teams; apply product requirements and design specifications. participate in test plan reviews; represent the mechanical design team in cross-functional team meetings; perform root cause analysis and error correction of system-level design and production issues; review 2D drawings and 3D models; review tolerances and GD&T.
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, electronics engineering, automotive engineering, or related field, and 3 years of experience in any role in which one or more of the skills listed below were used or developed. Included within the 3 years of experience, a qualified candidate must have special skills in the following: creating models using CAD Software (CATIA, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, ProE, Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD) and releasing 2D and 3D data in Teamcenter, VPM, or Windchill; calculating and applying GD&T; applying DFMEA to identify and prevent design failures; analysis of stamping feasibility for sheet metal products for automotive applications; communicating with assembly plants and suppliers regarding development and production prototype issues.
