Blue Origin is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to own the design of multi-axis precision motion subsystems used in high-accuracy machinery for spaceflight applications. You will drive concept through production release, crafting robust mechanisms and documentation with GD&T discipline.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration with controls, electrical, and process engineering, and requires hands-on, from-floor experience with aerospace hardware in a production setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years designing precision mechanical systems or aerospace hardware.
• Experience with multi-axis motion systems and precision positioning hardware.
• Strong GD&T and tolerance analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of multi-axis precision motion subsystems.
• Design mechanisms including linkages, actuators, latches, and sealing interfaces.
• Diagnose position-dependent geometric error and develop calibration methods.
• Contribute to full design cycle from concept to production release.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and interface control documents with GD&T.
