Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and integrate mechanical components for custom automation solutions. You will create fixtures, robotic tooling, machine frames, motion systems, and collaborate with controls teams to ensure seamless performance.

The role requires hands-on experience from design to installation, plus the ability to work across teams in a fast-paced environment contributing to safer, cost-effective spaceflight systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for automation, robotics, or industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD with GD&T and engineering release.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and robotic end-of-arm tooling design.

Responsibilities

• Design custom mechanical systems and assemblies for automation equipment, including tooling, fixtures, robotic cells, and mechanical sub-systems.
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using NX Design, SolidWorks, PTC Creo or similar software.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver complete solutions.
• Ensure mechanical designs meet functional requirements, manufacturability standards, safety codes, and ergonomic guidelines.
