Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Senior Design Engineer to turn engineering concepts into producible spacecraft hardware. You will design complex subsystems, run trade studies, and validate designs through structural and thermal analyses.

Experience with GD&T and cross-functional collaboration is essential, with a focus on high-reliability space hardware. Ideal candidates will have CREO expertise, 8+ years in mechanical design, and a track record in flight hardware development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in detailed design and analysis of complex mechanical systems.
• Expertise in CREO for 3D modeling and detailed design.
• Hands-on experience designing, analyzing, and testing space mechanisms or similar hardware.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering principles (statics, dynamics, materials).
• Ability to execute complex design projects with accountability.
• U.S. citizenship, permanent resident, or export eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of complex spacecraft components and subsystems with 3D models, specs, and drawings in CREO.
• Conduct and document trade studies to drive design decisions and architecture.
• Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses to validate design integrity.
• Apply GD&T to ensure functional and manufacturable designs.
• Collaborate with analysis, manufacturing, and electrical teams to deliver integrated hardware.
