Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a driven Mechanical Engineer (Mechanisms) to lead design, development, and qualification of precision hardware and electro-mechanical systems in a lab and field setting. You will own tasks, generate data packages, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust mechanisms.

The role requires hands-on Creo CAD experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work under limited supervision while interfacing with program leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience, or graduate degree with 0–2 years, or 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience designing precision mechanical hardware and mechanisms in a lab setting.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo) and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned tasks with limited supervision across high-consequence programs.
• Provide regular briefings to internal/external stakeholders, including customer reps.
• Create Technical Data Package components (drawings, docs).
• Prototype, integrate, and test parts and assemblies.
• Develop test plans and conduct tests for mechanical subsystems.
• Perform test/evaluation of components and systems.
• Participate in PDR/CDR and design reviews.
• Contribute to design changes and product development processes.
• Lead interdisciplinary design team activities.
• Work independently and adhere to company processes.
• Assist field testing as ME liaison when required.
