Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer (Designer) to lead design, development, and qualification of advanced mechanical hardware in a lab environment. You will own major system elements, generate 3D models, and produce designs and drawings for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.

The role requires hands-on hardware work, strong collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams, and eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. Location: Palm Bay, FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; 9+ years of relevant experience or 7+ with graduate degree; alternative 13+ years in lieu of degree.
• Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance is required (active within past 2 years preferred).
• Favorable polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for complex mechanical hardware including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical systems.
• Own large system aspects, conduct design reviews, and provide technical leadership.
• Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and design documentation with proper tolerances.
