Sargent & Lundy in Peachtree Corners, GA, is seeking a Mechanical or Chemical Engineer to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to power-plant projects on a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week in Peachtree Corners.

The role involves preparing calculations, evaluations, and technical reports; equipment sizing, optimization, and design analysis; and collaborating with project teams on mechanical systems. Some travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years of experience in the power industry.
• Preparation of calculations and reports; strong technical writing.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering applications in project design.
• Strong numerical computation and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, evaluations, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection for project needs.
• Support project teams with mechanical engineering work including system design, modification, and analysis of power plant mechanical systems.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification as needed.
