Job summary

New York Power Authority seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide expert leadership across generation, transmission, and substations. You will act as design authority, signing and sealing critical drawings and calculations, and lead reliability and regulatory compliance initiatives.

You will mentor engineering staff, help shape system standards, and participate in major transmission and modernization projects to support a reliable, clean-energy grid for New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required; Master's preferred.
• New York State Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• Experience managing engineering staff and overseeing complex projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in electrical system design, integration, testing, maintenance, and operations across generation, transmission, and substation environments.
• Serve as design authority and engineer of record for electrical drawings, specs, and calculations; provide professional signature and seal.
• Oversee inspection and evaluation of electrical equipment and systems for installation quality, condition assessment, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements.
• Review, approve, and ensure completeness of design packages, specifications, and modification documents.
