Job summary

New York Power Authority (NYPA) seeks an electrical engineer to provide engineering expertise and direction for equipment and control systems used in generation and transmission of electric power, and for customer utilization systems. You will develop solutions across generation, transmission, or customer sites, ensuring quality, safety, reliability, maintainability, timeliness, and performance.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum of two years related work experience.

Responsibilities

Provide responsible engineer function for design modification projects, equipment applications and failure research.
Perform field visits to observe construction/maintenance and provide on-site technical support.
Occasionally respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours.
Coordinate work with other disciplines and departments for project success.
Research applicable codes, standards and procedures and apply to tasks.
Inspect and evaluate to ensure requirements and specifications are met.
Supervise maintenance staff and contractors; plan and monitor daily work; review packages and data.
