Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for the Power global practice in the US. The role covers design, evaluation, and project leadership for coal and natural gas facilities, with responsibilities from front-end planning to construction administration.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• FE exam completed; PE license preferred; master’s not required.
• 7+ years of related mechanical experience; EPC project exp preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects for natural gas and coal plants.
• Front-end planning, preliminary design, and code analysis.
• Prepare bidding docs, specs, and construction administration support.
• Interface with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and pump selections.
• Assess equipment and lifecycle costs.
