Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of behind-the-meter power generation for large data center clients. You will work directly with the Director of Mechanical Infrastructure across multiple fast-moving projects involving gas turbines and power plant systems.

Responsibilities include reviewing OEM packages, performing engineering calculations, developing PFDs/P&IDs, and ensuring documentation alignment across disciplines.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years in power generation, industrial facilities, oil & gas, energy infrastructure.
• Experience with gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and power plant systems.
• Familiar with ASME B31.1/B31.3 and piping design.
• Strong Excel and modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform plant layout studies and equipment footprint analyses.
• Review OEM packages, datasheets, and performance models.
• Develop and maintain equipment lists and technical documentation across projects.
• Carry out fluid systems calculations (pressure drop, sizing).
• Support fuel gas, water, cooling, emissions, and RAM analyses.
• Develop and update PFDs and P&IDs; produce technical specs.
