Job summary

SB Energy in the United States seeks an experienced Sr. Electrical Engineer for Power Generation to lead design, integration, and delivery of electrical infrastructure for hyperscale data centers, emphasizing onsite generation with gas turbines and gas engines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering for data centers, power generation facilities, or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Experience with industrial/commercial engineering in data centers, gas turbine and gas engine power plants, microgrids, and distributed energy systems.
• Strong understanding of power generation systems including gas turbines, gas engines, generators, protection, synchronization, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Experience designing onsite power generation solutions for data centers, including backup power, renewables, and energy storage.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for hyperscale data centers, including medium- and low-voltage distribution and onsite power generation.
• Lead the electrical design and integration of onsite generation solutions (gas turbines, gas engines, microgrids, and hybrid energy).
• Provide design oversight from concept through commissioning to ensure reliability, availability, and energy efficiency.
• Review and optimize onsite generation system designs (transformers, distribution, protection, controls, and interconnections).
• Collaborate with clients to balance reliability, scalability, schedules, sustainability, capex, and opex for onsite generation and resilience.
• Support evaluation and selection of gas turbines, gas engines, generators, switchgear, transformers, and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Lead power generation studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, stability, reactive power, interconnection).
• Support field engineering, startup, commissioning, performance testing and operations of onsite generation facilities.
