Job summary

Candid Intelligence seeks a senior mechanical engineer with hands-on experience delivering power generation and gas-to-power projects. You will own mechanical scope, validate data, and shape product development while collaborating with FEED, P&IDs, and vendor packages.

You’ll bring 7+ years in large EPC environments, direct experience with combined cycle or LNG, and a bias for action. This role blends engineering, quality gate duties, and product direction in a fast-growing AI-enabled EPC

Qualifications

• 7+ years at a large-scale EPC, PMC, owner-operator, or OEM
• Direct experience on combined cycle, simple cycle, gas-to-power, LNG, or cogeneration projects
• Owned mechanical equipment datasheet development and vendor package review through FEED
• Strong on rotating and power-plant equipment: gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, pumps, compressors, fans, and BOP mechanicals
• Hands-on with equipment specification to API and ASME (API 610, 611, 612, 617; ASME VIII; B31.1 power piping)
• Experience coordinating OEM turbine and major equipment packages (GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power)
• Spotting inconsistencies across datasheets, P&IDs, and vendor packages
• Clear understanding of cross-discipline dependencies
• You’ve felt boxed in by big-company process and you want out
• Comfortable with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats; bias to action

Responsibilities

• Do real mechanical engineering on FEL-2 and early-phase delivery work
• Be the quality gate on automated mechanical outputs
• Define equipment scope development and validation through FEED on power and gas-to-power
• Review and validate mechanical content across datasheets, vendor packages, and discipline handoffs
• Build repeatable checks that catch scope gaps and inconsistencies early
• Map where mechanical rework happens, why it happens, and inputs driving it
• Clarify interface points with Process, Piping, I&C, and Electrical
• Separate the steps that are genuinely repetitive from those needing engineering judgment
