Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Chicagoland area to lead mechanical/HVAC design for diverse construction projects. The role demands hands-on use of AutoCAD and Revit, with a strong grasp of building codes and MEP coordination to deliver on time and on budget.

Qualifications

BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering required.
8+ years HVAC engineering experience.
Knowledge of IMC, IECC and Chicago Building Codes.
Experience with energy modeling using TRACE or eQUEST a plus.
Familiarity with ASHRAE Standards 55, 90.1 and 62.1.
PE license required; LEED experience a plus.
Strong REVIT MEP and AutoCAD skills; excellent communication.
Licensed professional with ability to lead projects and mentor others.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for construction projects using AutoCAD and Revit.
Ensure designs comply with local building codes and project standards.
Manage MEP projects from inception to completion within schedule and budget.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated project outcomes.
Apply HVAC expertise to design efficient, sustainable systems.
Contribute to sustainable construction initiatives and LEED readiness.
Supervise and mentor junior engineers; provide guidance in reviews.
Participate in meetings and uphold industry trends for improvements.
