Sargent & Lundy is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer for a hybrid role combining work from home with in-office collaboration. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, performing calculations, creating design drawings, and drafting procurement specifications.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• ABET-accredited BSME/MSME with interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, machine design, or thermal systems.
• 7 years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, preferably in a nuclear environment.
• Familiar with codes/standards: ASME B31 piping, ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, ASME AG-1.
• Experience with finite element analysis or advanced software (e.g., ANSYS, AutoPIPE, Datacor/AFT, HAP, Trace 700).
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks, Inventor, MicroStation, AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design engineering on a multi-disciplined project design team.
• Produce engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, and engineering reports.
• Apply mechanical engineering expertise to design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications (Mechanical sections).
• Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs.
• Mentor junior engineers.
