Job summary

NuScale Power is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 for NSSS Appurtenance Design. Remote within the contiguous United States with travel as needed.

You will perform complex mechanical design on NSSS components, review plant systems for compliance with nuclear codes and standards, and contribute to documentation and licensing efforts. The role requires a BS in Engineering (ABET) with 5+ years of relevant experience, strong technical writing, and the ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) required.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time, relevant experience.
• Knowledge of ASME Codes and Standards and 10 CFR 50.
• NSSS System Design, Inspection and Testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and review NSSS systems and components.
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications, drawings and calculations.
• Collaborate with a multi-discipline team and resolve technical problems.
• Support licensing efforts with NuScale domestically and internationally.
• Interacts with coworkers to coordinate design activities and projects.
