Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to join the NSSS Appurtenance Design team. You will prepare, check, and review reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and Scopes of Work, applying ASME Code requirements and engineering judgment.

The role collaborates across disciplines to solve complex design challenges, supports proof-of-concept testing, and interfaces with Licensing on regulatory activities domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 2+ years of nuclear or related mechanical engineering experience.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development/review of drawings, specs, reports, and scopes of work for NSSS mechanical components.
• Perform/verify engineering evaluations per company procedures and sound engineering principles.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve technical problems and share knowledge.
• Support development/implementation of processes for component design specifications.
• Travel nationally/locally as required by project needs.
