Job summary
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical architecture and packaging of complex networking systems in California. This onsite role requires hands-on leadership, system-level design, CAD reviews, and close collaboration with Electrical, Thermal, and Reliability teams.
You will guide cross-functional development from concept through production and field support.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years in electromechanical product development.
- MS preferred for advanced roles.
- Experience with networking, servers or high-density systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical development of complex networking systems from concept to production.
- Provide technical leadership across programs for packaging, manufacturability and reliability.
- Evaluate cooling, materials, interconnects, and manufacturing processes for future roadmaps.
- Drive system‑level decisions balancing performance, cost, and schedule.
- Engage in CAD reviews, prototype evaluation, and root‑cause investigations.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Thermal, Reliability, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
