Cypress HCM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a Houston-based client to design, develop, and refine Mud Pumps and related equipment. This hands-on role emphasizes safe, efficient mechanical systems and innovation in challenging environments.

You will lead mechanical design efforts, perform analyses, collaborate across teams, and ensure projects meet quality, cost, and schedule goals. Relocation is possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in development of machine and mechanical systems.
• Mud Pump/positive displacement pump design experience required.
• Proficient in CAD and FEA tools; reading P&ID and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise for mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
• Conceptualize innovative mechanical designs, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
• Perform stress analysis on components and systems for durability.
• Produce detailed design layouts and drawings to standards.
• Conduct tolerance studies and review design documents for quality.
• Research and specify purchased components for cost-effectiveness.
• Design and implement test plans to validate performance.
• Generate comprehensive engineering reports of analyses and outcomes.
• Stay updated with latest hardware/software to enhance offerings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept to specification.
