Job summary

GE HealthCare in Florence, SC is seeking an engineer to develop, plan, and provide technical support for new MRI magnet assembly processes and technologies, and to design improvements that boost performance, reliability, or reduce cost.

You will interface with suppliers and cross-functional teams to achieve program goals, participate in the product development life cycle from concept to ramp-up, and help ensure manufacturability, serviceability, and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment manufacturing, assembly tech, materials tech, and manufacturing methods tech.
  • Hands-on hardware experience with mechanical or electrical assemblies and tooling.
  • Experience specifying large-scale tooling or tooling design.
  • Understanding of cryogenic, pressure, or vacuum vessel fabrication and design.

Responsibilities

  • Provide creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues for factory and field.
  • Evaluate developments in assembly, welding, brazing, pressure vessels, vacuum chambers, and cryogenic tooling.
  • Support supply chain with alternative materials and processes; interface with suppliers.
  • Participate in product development life cycle from concept to ramp-up and production support.
  • Coordinate cross-functional design, analysis, and testing of MRI magnets.
  • Support manufacturing and Installed Base; uphold GE Healthcare quality and safety goals.
