Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Mission Critical Projects focused on data centers. The role involves design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems for high-performance facilities, in locations including Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C.

You will design HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, coordinate with architects and engineers, and lead project teams. Strong BIM/Revit skills and 10+ years in related fields are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years in an MEP/integrated design firm on commercial/public projects.
• 5+ years design experience related to data centers.
• Proven experience designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Strong communication with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with BIM workflows (Revit MEP).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients in an integrated design process.
• Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
• Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations incl. code research.
• Perform plumbing/fire protection calculations incl. code research.
• Write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
• Manage mechanical/project teams.
