Job summary

DLR Group seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire-protection systems for high-performance data centers and related facilities. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients in an integrated design process to deliver efficient, scalable solutions.

The role requires 10+ years in MEP work, 5+ years on data centers, and strong BIM/Revit proficiency, paired with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years in an MEP or integrated design firm on commercial/public projects.
• 5+ years design experience for data centers.
• Experience designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems on complex projects.
• Knowledge of design-construction process and interdisciplinary communication.
• Experience with BIM workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients.
• Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
• Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.
• Perform plumbing/fire protection calculations including code research.
• Write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct site visits when needed.
• Manage mechanical project teams.
