Job summary

TKDA, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Professional Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and process systems for heavy industrial facilities. You will mentor peers, coordinate with electrical, civil, and structural teams, and deliver drawings, specifications, and construction documents from concept through construction.

You will also help develop proposals, support project management, and travel up to 10% to project sites and client meetings.

Qualifications

• :"Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Mechanical Engineering."
• "Professional Engineer (PE) with ten or more years of progressive experience designing industrial mechanical systems including ventilation and process piping."
• "Demonstrated working knowledge of the project development process including coordination with other disciplines during design and construction."
• "Ability to apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills when developing proposals, negotiating project contracts, preparing technical reports, leading project team meetings, delivering client presentations, and participating in client consultations."
• "Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop less experienced professionals with an emphasis on technical design standards, quality control, and/or project management practices."
• "Prior experience providing and leading Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) reviews."
• "Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)."
• "Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and flexibility to travel as needed (up to 10%) for team meetings, client consultations, site inspections/visits, construction management duties, etc.; Occasional overnight travel will be required."

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for complex plant and building systems.
• Prepare construction drawings, specs, and detailing.
