Job summary

TKDA in Bloomington, MN seeks a Senior Professional Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and process piping for heavy industrial facilities and sites.

You will coordinate with multi-disciplined teams, prepare plans and construction docs, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development through proposals and client presentations. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• PE license with 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial mechanical systems.
• Experience coordinating with other disciplines during design and construction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for proposals and client meetings.
• Ability to coach and develop junior professionals in design standards and QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design for complex plant and building systems in heavy industry.
• Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, design details, and construction docs.
• Lead design teams and manage technical, QA/QC, and safety aspects.
• Mentor less experienced team members and share knowledge.
• Collaborate with market managers to develop proposals and client presentations.
