Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Lunar Systems, based in Mojave, CA. The role designs, analyzes, and builds primary/secondary structures, reporting to the Propulsion and Test Department.

Roles are onsite or hybrid, with up to 5% travel across the United States. Responsibilities include leading a team of mechanical engineers, coordinating tasks, developing best practices, reviewing CAD drawings and test reports, and creating test plans and designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience.
• Experience designing structural and mechanism components and assemblies.
• Knowledge of analyzing components for vibration, shock, and acoustic environments.
• Experience managing vendors to procure components meeting quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers for primary/secondary structure and mechanisms.
• Coordinate day-to-day tasks across the team.
• Develop and ensure tools, methods, and best practices are followed.
• Review CAD drawings, analyses, and test reports for standards.
• Create and execute test plans and document results.
• Create designs, analyses and test plans.
• Manage vendors to procure components, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
• Present programmatic and technical content.
