Job summary

Arion in Houston seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership across oil & gas and energy projects. You will oversee pressure vessel and rotating equipment design, ensure code compliance, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires extensive experience with ASME VIII, API, and related standards, plus strong collaboration with vendors and clients to deliver safe, high-quality design solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
• 8+ years of experience in heat transfer, pressure vessel, or rotating machinery design.
• Strong knowledge of ASME VIII, API, ANSI, ISO, and related standards.
• Experience in equipment selections, specifications, technical bids, and supplier document reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, specification, and procurement of pressure vessels, heat transfer or rotating equipment for oil & gas and energy projects.
• Prepare and review mechanical equipment specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor documentation and submittals to ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers; contribute to standards and best practices.
• Interface with vendors, clients, and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure technical alignment.
• Support fabrication, inspection, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
