Job summary

Bihr in Houston is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support design, analysis, mechanical integrity and operational reliability of fired heaters, reformers, boilers, HRSGs and pressure vessels in refining, petrochemical, syngas and LNG industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and analysis of pressure-retaining components, including coils, manifolds, headers, tube supports, tube sheets and pressure vessels.
• Perform pressure design calculations, stress analysis, fatigue assessments, creep evaluations and fitness-for-service studies.
• Review customer specifications and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical support throughout procurement, fabrication, inspection and commissioning activities.
• Investigate equipment performance issues and undertake root cause failure analyses.
• Support equipment integrity and life assessment programmes.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Job description

This role will support the design, analysis, mechanical integrity and operational reliability of fired heaters, reformers, boilers, HRSGs and pressure vessels serving the refining, petrochemical, syngas and LNG industries. This is a technically challenging role offering the opportunity to work on complex engineering projects involving fired heaters, reformers, boilers, HRSGs, pressure vessels and associated high-temperature systems. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety and compliance while providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams. As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:

• Lead the mechanical design and analysis of pressure-retaining components, including coils, manifolds, headers, tube supports, tube sheets and pressure vessels.
