Job summary

ORION ENGINEERS + CONSTRUCTORS is seeking a senior Process Engineer in Houston to support development, optimization, and troubleshooting of process systems across oil, gas, chemicals, and related facilities.

You will lead design work from concept through detailed engineering, performing PFD/P&ID work, simulations, equipment sizing, and safety evaluations while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and clients.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or related field.
5–20+ years in process engineering for oil and gas, petrochemicals, or refining.
Experience with desalination process upstream O&G is a plus.
Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, ProMax, or similar.

Responsibilities

Develop/process design deliverables: heat and material balances, PFDs, and P&IDs.
Perform process simulations to support design and optimization.
Conduct hydraulic calculations and line sizing for piping systems.
Size and specify process equipment and prepare datasheets.
Support relief system and flare design per codes and standards.
Participate in HAZOP/PHA and safety assessments.
Review vendor documents for conformance with process requirements.
Provide startup and troubleshooting support for process systems.
Contribute to project planning, scope, and scheduling.
