Job summary

Arion is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical design activities across oil & gas and energy projects. The role emphasizes safe, compliant, and high-quality design solutions and involves equipment design and selection, plus collaboration with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

You will guide less experienced engineers, review vendor documentation, and ensure technical alignment with codes and project requirements. Field and office work may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 5–9 years in heat transfer/pressure vessel or rotating machinery design.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API, ANSI, ISO, BS and related standards.
• Experience in equipment selection, specifications, requisitions, and supplier document reviews.
• Strong ability to interpret technical information for Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and a positive, proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and procure pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, or rotating equipment for oil & gas and energy projects.
• Prepare and review mechanical equipment specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Conduct technical evaluations, assess equipment suitability, and issue clarifications of supplier bids; prepare technical reports for orders.
• Review vendor documentation and submittals to ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to internal standards and best practices.
• Interface with vendors, clients, and interdisciplinary teams for technical alignment and integration.
• Support fabrication, inspection, and testing activities including factory/site acceptance testing.
• Assist in construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
