Job summary

Jobot in Sumter, SC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative mechanical systems. The role requires 5+ years in mechanical engineering within manufacturing, strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with product development, manufacturing processes, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Excellent problem-solving and innovative solution skills.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and products, utilizing your expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Overseeing the entire product development process, from initial concept to final production, ensuring all projects are completed within the set timelines and budget.
• Implementing and improving manufacturing processes to optimize production efficiency, utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
• Conducting thorough analyses of mechanical systems and products to ensure they meet all necessary requirements and standards.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
• Utilizing Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate defects and improve overall product quality.
• Mentoring junior engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
