Job summary

LeoForce in Sumter, SC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and development of high‑quality mechanical systems. You will guide projects from concept through production, optimize manufacturing processes using lean methods, and mentor junior engineers to strengthen team capabilities.

The role requires at least 5 years in manufacturing engineering, strong AutoCAD/SolidWorks skills, and a proven track record in product development and design optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within manufacturing.
• Proven experience in product development, manufacturing processes, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, engineering design, and machine design.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of mechanical systems using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Oversee product development from concept to production within timelines and budget.
• Improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency with lean principles.
• Analyze systems/products to meet requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with design, production, and QA to execute projects.
• Apply Six Sigma to identify defects and improve quality.
• Mentor junior engineers to support their growth.
