Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer onsite to lead mechanical work packages, drive design reviews, and coordinate cross-functional inputs across CAD, CAE, and suppliers.

You will own product development from concept through production, applying GD&T and DFM principles and guiding cost-reduction efforts while ensuring critical interfaces remain intact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical product-development experience with ownership of complex assemblies.
• Concept-through-release design experience for product development.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, and DFMEA.
• Ability to communicate tradeoffs and risks across teams.
• SolidWorks advanced skills and PLM/PDM experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical work packages and allocate activities across the team.
• Develop and review redesign concepts for pack structures and related hardware.
• Drive design reviews, resolve issues, and coordinate with suppliers.
• Review CAD drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and validation plans.
• Coordinate inputs from FEA, CFD, materials, and manufacturing.
