Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design efforts across programs. You will develop and test designs, oversee BOMs, drawings, calculations, and regulatory documentation while mentoring the engineering team and ensuring schedule adherence.

The role requires 7+ years in mechanical design, strong CAD skills, and a track record in risk management and prototype testing, with a focus on delivering high-quality, compliant components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design or related roles.
• Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• Strong understanding of design principles, tolerance analysis and calculations.
• Familiarity with regulatory documentation and prototyping/testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and lead mechanical designs, including BOMs, drawings and calculations.
• Lead the Mechanical Engineering team within a project with technical leadership.
• Define work breakdown structures from specifications and derived requirements.
• Track progress to support schedule and budget.
• Assemble, test, and evaluate prototypes for performance.
• Identify risks and provide mitigations; manage design reviews.
