Job summary

Fisica, Inc. in San Leandro, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems for advanced antenna products. You will own full lifecycle activities, oversee testing, and mentor engineers across disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in mechanical design, strong CAD/PD M tooling (PTC Creo, Windchill), and solid GD&T knowledge. This role supports critical defense programs and requires collaboration with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience (or 4+ years with a graduate degree).
• Strong CAD design and documentation skills (PTC Creo preferred).
• Solid understanding of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5).
• Demonstrated experience leading mechanical design efforts or managing projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems for advanced antenna products.
• Own full product lifecycle activities including concept development, detailed design, qualification, and production support.
• Develop and review CAD models, drawings, and technical data packages (GD&T per ANSI Y14.5) using PTC Creo.
• Perform and/or guide advanced analysis (FEA, hand calcs) using ANSYS.
• Plan, develop, and oversee testing activities with test plans and data analysis.
• Lead investigations and resolve complex technical problems with analytical solutions.
• Drive improvements to engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Mentor and provide technical direction to engineers and designers.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Lead and present at design reviews; contribute to department goals.
