Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Baton Rouge, LA to lead mechanical engineering deliverables across project phases for oil, gas, petrochemical, and related sectors. You will develop equipment data sheets, requisitions, and bid evaluations, and review specifications and drawings to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Experience leading mechanical engineering deliverables on brownfield and greenfield projects in oil, gas, chemical, petrochemical, power, and bulk materials sectors.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities for capital projects across multiple disciplines and teams.
• Develop, review, and approve specifications, design calculations, and drawings for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, etc.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and Worley’s HSE and quality expectations.
• Support procurement, vendor document reviews, and field walkdowns as required.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers and contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal Worley teams across time zones to deliver outcomes.
