Job summary

Worley Group, Inc. seeks a Principal Process Engineer to lead process engineering on Baton Rouge/Gulf Coast projects. You will define scope, estimates, schedules, staffing plans, and execution strategies while coordinating with clients, vendors, and construction teams.

You will provide technical leadership, review heat/mass balances, PFDs/ P&IDs, simulations, and equipment specifications, while mentoring engineers and designers and guiding changes through project processes.

Qualifications

• Typically 12+ years of process engineering experience in refining, chemical, petrochemical, industrial, energy, or similar facilities.
• Experience leading process engineering work on multidisciplinary brownfield, sustaining capital, revamp, or expansions.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering fundamentals, safety principles, codes and standards.
• Ability to lead diverse teams, coordinate execution, and make decisions with limited supervision.
• Competent use of industry tools such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PIPE-FLO, and related software.
• Ability to travel to Baton Rouge, LA office and nearby client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as Process Engineering Lead on assigned projects, planning, coordinating, and approving deliverables.
• Define scope, estimates, schedules, staffing, and execution strategies for proposals and projects.
• Lead development of heat/mass balances, PFDs, P&IDs, simulations, and equipment specs.
• Manage process engineering requirements and change control.
• Coordinate work with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Support HAZOP, LOPA, design reviews, and field walkdowns.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and supervision to engineers and designers.
• Identify issues and resolve discrepancies with regulatory and quality requirements.
