Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Parsippany, NJ to lead complex mechanical and electro-mechanical projects from concept through production. You will develop system architectures for advanced hoist, winch, and cargo-hook systems, translate customer needs into detailed designs, and apply rigorous engineering analysis across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience developing products in ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments.
• Strong design configuration management and product development processes.
• Experience with complex mechanical/electro-mechanical systems, preferably aerospace/defense.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degrees preferred.
• Approximately 10 years of mechanical or systems engineering experience.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Project management experience with budgeting tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and conduct engineering and product development projects.
• Manage all phases of product development from requirements to production.
• Provide project planning, reporting, and technical implementation throughout the lifecycle.
• Serve as a senior technical resource for project success across financial, technical, and timeline objectives.
• Develop system architectures for new products and integrated systems (hoist, winch, cargo hooks).
• Translate customer needs into equipment specifications and detailed mechanical designs.
• Apply engineering principles to analyze forces, moments, stresses, and performance.
• Perform 3D modeling, simulations, FEA, rapid prototyping, testing and documentation.
• Identify advanced materials and coatings for next-generation products.
• Develop and execute project plans ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Provide project management support from concept to completion for in-house and outsourced projects.
