Job summary

JVIS USA in Michigan is seeking a Mechanical Engineer responsible for producing specifications, developing, and installing new or modified mechanical components or systems. Responsibilities include guiding designers from concept to launch, performing DFMEA/GD&T tasks, and coordinating with program teams to estimate engineering hours, while maintaining IATF/ISO compliance and driving continuous improvement.

The role requires robust experience with injection molding and tooling, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in injection molding and tooling/manufacturing.
• Hard Trim/Soft Trim engineering experience is mandatory.
• Plant launch experience with interior molded components.
• Working knowledge of Teamcenter and Catia is an advantage.
• Automotive experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design concepts through program launch.
• Direct designers, develop DVPs and DFMEAs.
• Assist with GD&T and Gage Plans.
• Perform initial and ongoing design reviews.
• Deliver documentation with critical analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Program Managers to estimate engineering hours.
• Measure the performance of mechanical components.
• Produce and validate designs and test procedures.
• Provide technical support to peers, other departments and customers.
• Maintain and modify equipment for safety and reliability.
• Engage in continuous improvement.
• Perform design for manufacturing and tooling reviews.
• Feasibility reviews for injection molding tooling.
• Outline issues and countermeasures for mold/design problems.
• Maintain compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
