Job summary

TKDA in Minneapolis metro area seeks a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design for industrial facilities and sites. You will develop site plans, power, signal, lighting plans, equipment layouts, and control schemes, working with Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, and Structural teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage projects with budgets over $300k, and contribute to proposals using our Seller-Doer approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• PE with 10+ years in industrial power distribution, lighting, and controls.
• 2+ years leading electrical or multi-discipline projects with >$300k annual fees.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, and MS Office.
• Experience coordinating design standards across Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Structural.
• Construction administration experience including observation and inspection.
• Strong communication, writing specs, and leading project discussions.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Scope and lead the electrical engineering side of projects, developing site plans, power/signal/lighting plans, equipment layouts, one-lines, and controls.
• Support construction administration, interpreting plans, observing construction, and ensuring conformance to plans and specs.
• Mentor less experienced team members and help develop the next generation of engineers.
• Lead engineering teams and own technical, quality, financial, and safety aspects from concept to construction.
• Collaborate on proposals, client relationships, opportunity tracking, and client presentations.
