Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Senior Engineer I to lead discipline design and analysis for industrial piping projects from inception to construction. You will guide internal and external teams, develop equipment specs, and ensure technical excellence.

You will manage scope, budgets, and schedules, review PFDs and P&IDs, select components, and coordinate with suppliers. Strong communication and multi-project focus are essential to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred; PE preferred.
• 6+ years related engineering experience with industrial equipment and industrial piping systems.
• Strong knowledge of PFDs and P&IDs; understanding of industrial equipment and equipment packages, and valve selection.
• Knowledge of PHMSA standards, NFPA 59A, ASME B31.1/31.3, and ASME Section VIII preferred.
• Knowledge of basic process design and stress analyses including supports, guides, anchors, hangers preferred.
• Experience with procurement, commissioning and start-up standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead discipline on projects and manage internal/external resources.
• Design complete projects or systems and prepare project documents.
• Coordinate tasks with engineers, designers and staff.
• Plan and manage scope, budget and schedule for projects.
• Check constructability, safety, quality, interferences and coordination.
• Present project aspects at meetings and communicate progress.
