Job summary

Lam Research in Oregon is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to design cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for the Lam Platform. You will conduct feasibility studies, guide teams in detailed design, and ensure packaging meets overall specifications.

This role requires leadership, strong CAD skills (CREO and Siemens NX), and a hands-on engineering background. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, deliver FMEA and design reviews, and mentor junior

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years experience; or Master’s with 8+ years.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in CREO and Siemens NX 3D CAD.
Hands-on experimental and design background.

Responsibilities

Support full life cycle of mechanical/electro-mechanical systems from concept to validation.
Design components using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and coatings.
Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, Lam standards, and GD&T.
Conduct structural, FEA, thermal, and flow analyses to specify designs.
Develop feasibility studies and test plans to validate performance.
Prepare reports and technical presentations for design reviews.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for manufacturability and cost.
Provide deliverables including FMEA, specifications, risk analyses, test specs, and design reviews.
Mentor junior engineers.
