Job summary

Lam Research in Fremont, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 6 to lead the design of mechanical/electro‑mechanical systems for etch and deposition products. You’ll perform feasibility studies, CFD/FEA analyses, and guide teams in detailed design and fabrication to define packaging for next‑generation technology.

You will work on multi‑disciplinary projects, develop system P&IDs, and translate marketing requirements into robust engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 12+ years experience or Master’s degree with 10+ years experience.
• Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support life cycle of mechanical/electro‑mechanical systems from concept to productization, including CAD modeling and testing.
• Design components using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings.
• Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, Lam standards, and GD&T.
• Develop engineering requirements from marketing requirements to drive product development.
• Create engineering documentation and P&ID, and perform risk analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and quality.
