Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Moon Township, PA office. This hybrid role combines onsite and remote work with a focus on industrial facilities and manufacturing projects.

You will lead mechanical design efforts, perform calculations, and mentor junior staff while interfacing with clients and project teams. The position requires a PE license, 10+ years of experience, and proficiency with mechanical design software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing facilities.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) required.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI, ASME, IBC, ISO, NFPA codes and standards.
• Experience with mechanical system design and engineering calculations.
• Proficiency with mechanical design software.
• Demonstrated experience leading project teams and coordinating multidisciplinary efforts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to conduct field investigations and site visits.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of mechanical engineering solutions for industrial facilities.
• Apply knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices.
• Perform mechanical and piping system design.
• Complete engineering calculations, including HVAC equipment selection and pipe sizing.
• Develop P&IDs and Block Flow Diagrams.
• Establish design criteria and technical specifications for projects.
• Prepare equipment and system specifications.
• Provide quality review and oversight of designs by team members.
• Serve as primary mechanical engineering contact for PMs, clients, and design teams.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and designers.
• Coordinate project requirements with civil, structural, electrical, and process teams.
• Develop labor estimates for proposals and planning.
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, and project reviews.
