Salas O’Brien’s Plymouth, Michigan office is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-discipline design team focused on HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovations. You will provide technical leadership in construction drawings and specifications, mentor junior engineers, and support QA/QC.

Qualified candidates will meet with clients and project teams to address mechanical issues, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure code compliance.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 10+ years of mechanical and HVAC design for commercial/institutional/industrial buildings.
• Active P.E. license in Michigan or reciprocity feasible within timeframe.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, NEC standards.
• Familiar with IBC/IMC/IPC codes and Michigan adaptations.

Responsabilidades

• Develop mechanical designs for assigned projects with independent judgment.
• Lead HVAC system design covering air handling, energy recovery, and distribution.
• Direct calculations, equipment selections, and schematics for HVAC/plumbing.
• Review & approve design documents, reports, and studies.
• Perform HVAC load calculations and oversee others' work.
• Lead field investigations and existing-system surveys on complex projects.
• Coordinate with disciplines and act as technical resource to clients.
