Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Fed-Florida Business Unit. The role focuses on design of mechanical and plumbing systems, HVAC, fire protection, and energy efficiency analyses across facility types.

You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, support field activities, and ensure quality control of project deliverables. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, an ABET-accredited BS, and EIT; PE within 1–2 years is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of professional Mechanical Engineering experience.
• EIT certification preferred; ability to obtain PE within 1-2 years.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical and plumbing components and systems.
• Perform engineering calculations and thermal/fluids analyses.
• Develop HVAC system designs for various facilities and safety/fire protection systems.
• Coordinate mechanical with other disciplines and support field activities.
• Adhere to Project Management Plans and Quality Control processes.
