Job summary

RVE (an Ardurra company) in Cherry Hill, NJ is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 7+ years of experience to lead the design and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial and industrial projects.

You will oversee projects from concept through construction, perform mechanical calculations, select equipment, develop layouts, and ensure quality construction documents while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline required.
• 7+ years of experience in design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• PE license required.
• Ability to convey thoughts clearly verbally and in writing; strong communication and management skills.
• Experience with Revit preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial and industrial projects.
• Perform mechanical calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts.
• Oversee hydronic piping, ductwork, and equipment sizing.
• Develop and manage project schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of construction documents.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams, architects, and clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; provide technical oversight.
• Conduct site visits and field surveys as needed.
• Assist in proposal development and department growth initiatives.
• Oversee projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare high-quality engineering reports and presentations.
